Casmerodius albus in the Garden


The distinctive call of the heron marked the beginning of time in the ancient Egyptian creation myth; heron ("lu") is a homonym for "path" in Chinese; the heron is known as a messenger of Athena, the goddess of wisdom in ancient Greece, and it is the symbol of everything beautiful and rare in the Maori culture.
