Welcome to the RBG Gardeners' Blog
We are very excited to introduce Ruth Bancroft Garden's Gardeners' Blog. This is where to look for interesting garden updates from the RBG gardeners' perspectives. With the help of our team of dedicated volunteers, in addition to regular upkeep there is much progress being made in the Garden including new plantings and major bed and pathway renovations. This year as a Staff Project we are also experimenting with a water-wise "No Dig" vegetable garden that we will be documenting.
If you have an questions or comments about content or pictures on the blog, please e-mail us at andrew@ruthbancroftgarden.org.

Nice Hummingbird Perch
We enjoy these stately inflorescenses, in this case an Agave
tequilana, and tend to leave them up as long as they don't threaten to
fall over. Not only do they look cool, they make a great resting spot
for our hummingbirds. This species of agave produces hundreds of
plantlets on its stalk that will eventually drop to the ground and
start the process anew. CB
